An exquisite French walnut dining table by Robert Irwin Furniture Company. Elegantly designed with crotch walnut veneered top. Includes an inlaid band around the top, and acanthus carvings trimmed in Gold. Circa 1950.

At the ripe age of 23 Robert Irwin rose from office clerk to plant superintendent of the Grand Rapids School Furniture Co. In 1900 he and some associates purchases Royal Furniture Co, and later it transferred to his very own label in Irwin.

Irwin specialized in high end reproductions based off of European and ancient American classics. His most formidable designer, J. Stuart Clingman helped in the modernization of these iconic designs from woods such; as French Walnut, Rosewood Mahogany, Aspen, Satinwood and Curly Maple.

Condition

Very Good Overall Condition. This table has a central post that can be mounted for additional support when expanded. The leafs are darker in color than the table. One of them sustained water damage at some point in the past. Leafs come with carrying case for ease of storage.
