John Stuart was an iconic designer who started his roots in 1934 with high-end Designer Showrooms in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They specialized in Early English, Georgian, American, and French Revivals and reproductions, as well as Modern residential furniture made from Grand Rapids factories. The company remained in business until 1956. Around that time he began designing furniture for companies such as Mt. Airy and Finn Juhl.

These beautiful Queen Anne chairs were designed by him during his time working for Mt. Airy Furniture in the 1960s. Made from a distressed walnut with cane back and striped seat. Part of a dining room set from an estate in Dayton, Ohio
